Yan was born in Beiging China. and from an early age took a liking to Art reading and cooking. Now living in New Zealand, she loves to travel and meet new people. When painting Yan loves to find the soul of that person.
Yan graduated from the Fine Arts department, of Beiging Normal University in 1990s Then worked as an exhibition editor, and curator, at the National Art Museum of China for over 30 years. She is now based in New Zealand and is dedicated to portrait art creation.
Yan is a passionate artist who has honed her skills in various forms of art, including oil painting, sketching, and more. Her work is a reflection of her diverse interests and experiences, which are reflected in the vivid colors and intricate details of her paintings.
Yan’s impressive career in the arts, spanning over three decades, includes a range of accomplishments such as serving as an exhibition editor and curator at the National Art Museum of China. Her work has been displayed in various exhibitions, galleries, and private collections in China, New Zealand, and beyond. Despite her many achievements, Yan remains humble and continually seeks to grow as an artist, pushing herself to explore new techniques and subject matter in her artwork.
Her artwork is inspired by her love of people and the connections she has made throughout her life. She enjoys the challenge of capturing the unique essence of each person she paints, and her portraits are known for their lifelike qualities that seem to jump off the canvas.
Whether she is exploring a new country or creating a new portrait, Yan is always seeking to expand her horizons and push the boundaries of her creativity. She is dedicated to her craft and strives to create art that not only captures the beauty of her subjects but also tells a story and inspires others.
